A year ago, Yanamlyn was at a crossroads. She had spent six fulfilling years in the NGO sector, working with the Papua New Guinea Tribal Foundation as the national coordinator for the anti-violence campaign, Senisim Pasin, and supporting the leadership program, Senisim PNG. Her work was impactful, but when the opportunity to join the oil and gas industry arose, she knew it was time to leave her comfort zone.
The prospect of entering an entirely new field was daunting. Yanamlyn was filled with questions and doubts—What if I fail? What if I don’t have the necessary experience? What if I can’t keep up? Despite these fears, she knew that this was her chance to take on a new challenge and push her boundaries.
During her interview, Yanamlyn was open about her lack of industry experience but expressed her readiness to learn and grow. The panel saw her potential and offered her the position, setting her on a path that would not only broaden her professional horizons but also allow her to make a meaningful impact in her home province.

She admires their resilience and energy, which mirrors the strength of the communities they work with—communities that are as unique and kind-hearted as the project itself.
The journey has not been without its challenges, but Yanamlyn has found herself surrounded by a team that handles every obstacle with professionalism, precision, and unwavering dedication. Their collective efforts have made the Papua LNG Project a success, and she is honored to be part of such an accomplished team.
