The Data Analytics GDP was designed to enhance graduates' data analysis skills, contributing to increased operational efficiency within the IRC. The initiative aimed to develop professionals capable of utilizing data insights to improve tax administration processes in Papua New Guinea.

According to IRC officials, the program aligns with the commission’s focus on Capacity Development, which is one of its key pillars. By investing in graduate training, the IRC seeks to strengthen both individual skills and institutional capacity to meet the demands of evolving tax challenges, further supporting its vision for a robust tax administration system.

Commissioner of Taxation, Mr. Samuel Loi, addressed the graduates during the event, emphasizing their role in shaping the future of IRC. “These graduates represent the future of IRC,” he said. “Their skills in data analysis will drive improvements in our operations, ensuring that IRC is better equipped to serve the people of PNG.”

Graduates expressed their appreciation for the opportunity, with one noting that the program had been transformative. Another participant acknowledged the contributions of external mentors, including Tyson Fawcett from the Australian Tax Office (ATO), who played a significant role in shaping their critical thinking skills.
