Vodafone reports 650,000-plus subscribers after a month of operations in PNG
MORE than 650,000 customers have subscribed to Vodafone PNG’s services since the company’s launch and entry into the PNG market, the company's head of corporate sales Bipin Solanki says.
Speaking during the onboarding ceremony of one of the company’s new client, PNG DataCo, Solanki said: “We are overwhelmed with the response that we have gotten from the consumer market.
“We have made over 650,000 connections within just a month of our launch and we are receiving positive sentiments from the business community as well and PNG DataCo’s confidence in our service is proof of that.
“Vodafone PNG is honoured to officially onboard PNG DataCo Ltd as our business customer.
“We hope to onboard more business customers over the coming months.”
PNG DataCo Ltd, which was established in 2014, is a state-owned enterprise that owns, manages, operates, and maintains telecommunications wholesale infrastructure and assets.
General manager commercial Une O’ome said: “On behalf of PNG DataCo Limited, we are pleased to welcome Vodafone as our service provider for mobile telecommunications.
“We believe in competition. That’s why we exist – to provide telco’s the capability to deliver their services to our people at an affordable price.”
