Shipping Australia meets PNG Ports Corporation
A high-level delegation of executives from Papua New Guinea Ports Corporation visited the Shipping Australia office earlier this week to discuss international shipping, global ports matters, the shipping industry in Australia and regulatory policy.
Shipping Australia Chair, Scott Henderson, and Shipping Australia CEO, Captain Melwyn Noronha, hosted the high-level delegation.

Both Shipping Australia and the PNG Port Corporation agreed in the future to develop a working relationship to discuss shipping and ports matters of regional and global concern.
At the conclusion of the event, executives from the Port Corporation and Shipping Australia cemented friendships over lunch at a local restaurant.
NOTE: Shipping Australia ensured the event was COVID-safe through applying our COVID management plan. We requested that all visiting participants reported negative Rapid Antigen Test results before entering the Shipping Australia building. Each visitor had their temperature taken and signed a declaration that they were not experiencing any of the typical COVID symptoms (as reported by the UK’s ZOE-COVID study – the world’s largest COVID-symptom study with about 4.5 million participants). Facemasks, hand sanitizers and hand wash facilities were available to all present.
